The Buffy Re-Boot

I'm excited that a re-boot, with Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy, may soon hit the small screens again. This is the first time a post-Buffy & Angel series seems to actually have a chance. There were planned spin-offs that never spun and plans for another re-boot that never came.

The news also raises questions, of a Buffy without Whedon, for example. But here, I am optimistic.

The more interesting questions revolve around who will reprise their roles. Will Spike return, despite an aging actor? How will Dawn be handled? Will dead characters get another chance (Cordelia? Anya? Tara?). The recent audio play Slayers: A Buffyverse Story showed it might be possible. Is this even part of the canon?

The comics are canon, but will they be treated as such? Nevertheless, to prepare for the re-boot, my next project is to re-read the comics (I've only read them once) and blog about the themes and key plot points, making my Buffyverse journey complete.
